28/29 hood shelf screw finish

Are the screws that fasten the hood shelf latches raven finished or cad plated? I have seen it both ways and would like to know which finish the machine screws originally were.

Based on some original 1929 hardware that I have seen it is raven. I believe it is stated in the hardware booklet but don't have mine currently avaiable.

Thanks, Hunter. I believe you are correct. In the Standard Hardware booklet it states raven finish, but I am a little unsure if the booklet is always correct. I have found a problem with another fastener in the booklet.

This is according to the October 1, 1929 Parts Price List...

The "long" bolts were Raven Finish with Black Enamel Head.

The "short" bolts were Raven Finish;

The nuts and Washers were plain.

To get the full picture it's helpful to track it through the books. They started as raven and later changed to black enamel heads. Also, when you do this enough you get a grasp on some of the "omissions" where things have changed but missed being documented in the books for awhile.
