Rear end noise I have a early 1928 aa, When i let of the clutch i hear a clunk noise that apears to be comming from the rear, I dont hear any grinding noise and the rear is full of grease, any ideas what this may be and is it a hard repair for the average mechanic Thanks you Billy

Re: Rear end noise My guess is a bad u-joint, worn coupling between the drive shaft and worm gear, or excessive play
in the gears. Bob |
Re: Rear end noise Could also be a loose axle nut?

In this case we held the brake on and partially engaged the clutch and got the clunk but would only do it once. It would then do the same in reverse only once until we reversed direction once again removing the slop in that direction. |
Re: Rear end noise Thank you for your help , Now i have a starting point i will look into it further , Im sure i will be back with more on this Thank You Billy.
