What oil? I have an f150 transmission, and need to know what oil guys are running in it? I know there's quite a few running behind Model A engines.
Thanks, Marty. |
Re: What oil? I use 75-90 gear oil from NAPA. I use it in the transmission, O/D and Banjo rear axle

Re: What oil? The guy who sold me my F150 gearbox recommended Red Line synthetic SAE70W80. I haven't installed the gearbox yet so cannot make any worthwhile comment.

Re: What oil? I use Redline MT-90 manual transmission oil. This has a better friction coefficient for synchros than regular 90W gear oil.It shifts great hot or cold.
The only downside is I have to pay shipping to get it since no one local sells it. If I remember, the F-150 trans. takes exactly one quart on refill. Happy New Year John |
Re: What oil? My service info says 4.5 US pints. Any of the above recomended oils will work well. Do NOT use ATF! I have Mobil 1 75W-90 in mine. Ron W
