How much oil do I need for tranny & rear end

I bought a quart of 600W is that enough for both tranny & rear end?

Most supplier's catalogs have great specification & capacities charts.
Reading a new catalog page by page gives a great overview of parts supplied & with exploded views & some "tips" they include, it's almost like a Model A-101 class. Bill W.

you need 2 qts, just fill them till the oil comes out the fill hole, you will have some left with two qts

I just did mine 1 pint maybe a little more did the trans and close to 1 -1/2 for the rear. This stuff is thick I had it by garage heater to warm it a little to help it flow. The trans is in a tight spot if you fill by hand I use a electric transfer pump so can't offer any tips for hand filling.

Had no trouble getting it in the tranny with floor out and it took 1 1/2 pints - the rear end only took one pint and was flowing out of the fill hole

Aok, do you have a recommendation of the brand of pump and where to get one. This is something I need big time.

Re: How much oil do I need for tranny & rear end

It works off 12 volts so it's portable I use a battery or jump pack to run it. I have mostly used it with 90 weight oil, I used for fluid transfers in 4 wheel drive vehicles and some other older vehicles I had at the time. The 600 stuff is a little heavier then its designed for but it work well and the upside is I do not look I took a bath in oil when I am done.

Its called Fill_Rite I think I paid about 1/2 what they cost today but I have had it for 4-5 years but back then it did not come with the hoses and extra stuff that you do not need for what I used it for . Below is a link to the one I have

Aok, what size/type of tubing to you use...... Norther Tool's are a little big..... But anyone here in South Florida could use in case another Hurricane rolls over us - gas for the generator out of the truck/cars.

Re: How much oil do I need for tranny & rear end

I would have to measure but I am thinking 5/8 I got 2 plastic fittings with threads on one side and barbed ends on the other side and some clear tubing. You could use something smaller for fuel transfer but for heavy oils I wanted a large diameter. Not really sure if it is for gas, but to move gas around I use a 12 volt auto electric fuel pump and hook it up with my jump pack, a electric fuel pump would only be about $50.00
