New Window Channel Installation
 

I am in the final stages of rebuilding my 30 Tudor. Today I received the new window channel kits. Before I make a mess of this I thought I would ask how to install the new window channel felt. I looked through the books and past threads on the subject but do not find an answer. I have the kit that has the tabs riveted at the top and bottom of the felt channels and I see where the tabs go but do not understand how to get the top tab in without bending it. When the bottom tab is slid into the slot and brought to the highest point it can be move to, how to you get the top tab in. If you do not put the bottom tab in its slot I still do not see how to get the top tab into its slot since the tab is bent at a 90 degree angle. Even if I can get it into the top slot the bottom tab seems to be too high to start it into its slot. This must be an easy thing to do but I just do not see it. Would greatly appreciate instructions.

Go to www.ocmafc.com. It is the web site for the Orange County Model A Ford Club (Southern California). On the home page at left is a menu. Scroll down to "tech articles" and click. It will bring up a new menu. At the top is my name, click on it and it will bring up a menu of tech articles. Scroll down to the one on window channeling and click. The article is about installing window channels in the door windows of a Victoria, which is different than a Tudor, but I think there may be enough similarity in the construction of the side felt channels that it may be of help to you.

You are free to down load the article and print it out and use it as you see fit.

Thank you Tom. Just looked at your article and it is just what I need. I wanted to see if I would need to bend the upper tab....and I do. Thanks again.
