Cool sites along PA RT 30 3 Attachment(s)
Had the old girl out for a spin on Sunday & snapped some photos of a stretch of the "Lincoln Hiway" along PA RT 30 near Bedford, PA. I Haven't posted photos before so if they don't work I'll try again. The historical society commissioned an artist to period paint some scenes on a few of the old barns along the hiway as well as preserving the old "Coffee Pot Diner" but sadly the "Ship Hotel" near the top of the mountain burned to the ground some years back but it was quite an attraction in its day.

Re: Cool sites along PA RT 30 Nice pictures. Don't have a picture of it handy, but there is an old gas station, that is called the Tea Pot. It has been around since I was a kid, in Toppenish, WA. Up until a few years ago, it was still a full service gas station. It's now a roadside attraction for the National Historical Society or whatever it's called.
It was moved approximately 20 years ago, when they put in the new freeway. |

I've been down through there. My wife is from Bedford. I believe this old landmark used to be along through there. The Ship Hotel overlooked 7 counties and 3 states I think.
