Apple Green Wheels In an earlier post, a Ford Barn Member gave us the PPG paint codes for Apple Green Wheels. Has anyone tried to powder coat wheels using this tricky color? How can you be sure that you get the color you want using powder coat? Ed in Maine.

Re: Apple Green Wheels I powder coated my rims on my 29 Roadster pickup apple green. If you want to send me an email to [email protected] I will send you a picture !
I think it looks great and I have had both positive ( more ) and negative opinions. But remember we own it and we do what we like !Regards, wayne |

Re: Apple Green Wheels Ed, no matter who "likes" a color or thinks it is the authenticshade, the Paint & Refinish Guide is the universally accepted benchmark by which a judgment is made. I am unaware of any powder manufacture that has a non-blended color of powder that matches the chip in the P&RG. TigerDrylac and other powder manufactures are generally willing to send a chip or a small amount of powder that you or your coater can do a spray-out to determine the color match.

Re: Apple Green Wheels I then did my pinstripe the same color and I had the Ford insignia on the tailgate painted the same color. I think it looks great !

Re: Apple Green Wheels These guys are supposed to do a nice job with their blend of powder.
Maybe they can sell some to your shooter. http://www.modelawheelcolors.com/ |
Re: Apple Green Wheels Thank you everyone. Bruce, your suggested supplier should be able to do the job for me. Thank you, ED

Hi Gary, While nothing is for certain, if you call TIGER DRYLAC and study their RAL color chart, on line or as mailed, then request sample panels of what you think is correct, you can order the powder from them at a decent price for your coater to shoot. |
