Gas float adjustment Is there any way to calibrate the gas float gauge out of the tank? I have a 1930 Town Sedan and it is off a bit. When the 0 is almost centered in the window, I am completely empty.

Re: Gas float adjustment it's all trial and error with the float arm, you'll need to bend the arm just a tiny bit to make the adjustment, then at "0" you should have 1 gallon left, I think that's what I read on another post.

Re: Gas float adjustment We just did a gas gauge clinic in our club... Al's is correct to my knowledge too, when the F is pegged at the top of the tank and in the center of the window, with a relatively straight float rod you should have an extra gallon when 0 is centered in the window.
As far a handy way to adjust the gas gauge, this link is pretty handy... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ucSV66JVyDc |
Re: Gas float adjustment Thanks for the link to the Youtube video. I will have to give that a try. I do have a spark arrestor screen in the gas filler that I can't seem to get out. Is there a special too to remove the screen?

Re: Gas float adjustment Yes, it's a round disc with 4 tangs and sold by many of the parts houses.
