Have patience. Mac Van Pelt has a diagram on his web site that I would refer to.
Be sure to have everything you will need before you start, gaskets, rubber tubes, etc. Needle nose pliers come in handy to bend the wires into their respective place and then to push into the holes in cap. One side at a time.
It is best to buy color coded wire for the 36. Be sure of the length before you cut the wire. Good luck, Charles

Does the cap just pop out of the cover?

There are 2 caps on each side, each side is held to gether with an "O" ring. The inner cap lots of times gets stuck in the housing there is also a gasket inbetween the 2. You can pop them off through the coil opening with a hammer and a piece of wooden dowel, careful not to break them. Then will have to be fitted to the case by,scraping, fileing and orgrinding down the outside edge which ever is the tight spots, its time consummingeven when you know what your doing. ken ct. BTW color coded wires are NOT corect for 36 /36 used black wires/ with the hook ends and butter fly dist ends. ken ct

I might suggest some silicone spray when you install the new wires, it really helps.
Gary.
