I would like to change my 53 ford 6 volt to negative ground. Would this effect my stock radio. Thanks

Re: radio polarity

When I changed over to 12 volts, I was advised that if the radio still had the original type vibrator it is not polarity sensitive and would operate correctly with a voltage reducer. (this turned out to be correct )
If the radio has a modern replacement vibrator it will not work as it is polarity sensitive.

Re: radio polarity

If you do have a solid state vibrator in it now you can buy one with the opposite polarity.
