38' pickup cab mounts 1 Attachment(s)
does anyone have any pic's of some cab mounts with cab intalled from underneath truck? Do the springs go around bolts between floorboards and wood? my truck was apart when i got it and i want to put cab back on frame and really don't wan't to do it twice, at least until blowing it apart for paint. is the round relief area (see pic) just for bolt head clearance? thanks.:D

Re: 38' pickup cab mounts I just took my 37 off the frame and if you can wait a few days till I get back home I'll take a few pictures and email them to you. The wood under my cab was in good shape. The bolts with the springs were in the front and back corners. On the front, the springs were on top and on the rear, the springs were underneath.

Re: 38' pickup cab mounts 55, This time of year I don't get on line much. Yes my front/rear spring's were between the frame(bottom) and nut. Hopefully you got the kit from Roy with instruction's and he's always good for some do's and don'ts. Scott
From the top down, bolt-washer, through wood to the frame bottom-spring/washer/nut. Oh and that's the fun part, starting those first few threads:D Will get's some pic's here later for yah. |
Re: 38' pickup cab mounts hey 55 We" know ",,it just takes us a little time to put it into words ! er,,letters :D like 39 portlander says ,only my 39 had a piece of hard leather ,square/washer ,same size as the top of the wood ,between the cab bottom and the wood ,. Henry put them there, so I put them back :D M in M

Yes M-in-M that's the "anti-squeeeeek" can see it in my 2nd pic.
Driver front, pass. front, driver rear, pass. rear and one of the pass. mid. enjoy:D Roy Nacewicz kit for 38-41 cab to frame is T-94-06. I love talking with Roy when I need a particular part, he's alway's got a small Ford tidbit of info like the rear spring's were painted an orange to differentiate between front and rears on assembly. |

Re: 38' pickup cab mounts 55, the first bolt forward has no wood, just the anti-squeek material. The 2nd and 3rd (no spring) go through the wood as does the rear (with spring).
Thinking there should be a nice horizontal groove across the frame were the cab has made her mark over the years. When you order your bolt kit, Roy will fill you in on the details. Talking to all these guy's in this hobby who have been driving/working on these early Fords is the only way I know this stuff. The more people you talk to the more you know:D Scott |
Re: 38' pickup cab mounts Proud of you! You got it all real right and it looks super!:)

Re: 38' pickup cab mounts well for now i had some original wood mounts that a member convinced me to take when i was buying other parts and that will get it home (1250 miles) and i can say the guys that reproduce this stuff aint making much money if they are at that. Not sure how many they need to sell to recoupe making jigs but i'm sure their were some late nights spent out in their shops doing it. THANKS
