Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up Makes me wonder how it would fare if entered in the Rouge Class at a V8 Club Concourse!

|
Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up well it looks like a aussie ute to me they made them from i think 1934 till 54 yes i remember the kaplan bros,,we have a guy here in new zealand that has been importing from argintena for about 30 years all these cars were rhd so suitable for nz roads

Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up It does look like an Ute.
|
Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up Every UTE i've seen, the box and the cab are connected and look like one long rear panel
so with the box and cab separated, some of you say, this is still a Ute ??? . |
Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up It's def. not a ute...
|
Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up Not an Aussie Ute. The last year they were done was 1938,as a ''Standard', which is better looking than a Deluxe to me. Knowing Ford Aust., they probably did a few Deluxe types as well, but all low volumes. Also, as someone said, the Aussie types were a continuous panel from the door to the tailgate.

Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up As tudortomnz stated 1938 was the last year for Roadster Utes in Australia. They were exactly that, Roadsters with side curtains not roll up Cabriolet style door windows as this one has, which makes this one unique. Coupe Utes were built for many years after 1938 of course.

Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up Argentine vehicles were lefthand drive, like the US.
They also have all of the tooling for 64 ? Falcons. |
Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up Ryan said : "Dig deeper and the clues start to point to Argentina. The battery and most of the electrical components are Argentinian (is that a word?)"
Actually it would be "ARGENTINE" . Good guess though. |
Re: 1938 Ford Roadster Pick Up Its made up out of a open car and pickup bed,. The gap between the bed and cab is two wide the chrome doesn't follow around ,its right hand alright ,Argentina could be factory
