Spring Perch Bushing Removal/Suggestions? Hi all,
I need to remove the (what looks original) metal bushings from my rear spring perches. I'm looking for tips/advise from explorers that have been here before me. I was planning on pounding them out, which would probably be a mess. Thanks! Banky |

Re: Spring Perch Bushing Removal/Suggestions? If you have the right size tap, thread them, then screw in a bolt of the right thread pattern, and hammer on the bolt till they come out the other side. If you don't have that tap, I recommend buying it. It will make the job so easy you'll wonder why you ever tried any other way.

Re: Spring Perch Bushing Removal/Suggestions? Ha! I was totally thinking of the hacksaw method but thought I would get reamed for suggesting it.

Re: Spring Perch Bushing Removal/Suggestions? I used a hacksaw to cut the bushings when I redid my rear end on my T/S.

Re: Spring Perch Bushing Removal/Suggestions? I to am a hacksaw man. Just be careful not to saw too far. I always saw into where the thick part of the perch is so, if I were to go a little too far, it wouldn't hurt much. it is kind of a long, tough operation, but it works.
