Fusing Circuits in a 34 Ford V/8 ???

When rewiring a 34 what circuits should be fused, or should one fuse all circuits; like separate fuses for the tail-lights ,(Probably add in signal lights also) headlights , 2 horns , dash & Dome lights and cowl lamps ? and what size fuses would be appropiate for the circuits , thanks barners.... Dale ..

Hi,
As crazy as it sounds, the fuse is there to protect the wire. If your device goes bad and sucks a lot of amps, the fuse will blow before your wire burns and sets fire to your vehicle. Size should be sufficient for the device or wire. If you know the amps it will draw add a couple more for the fuse, just don't exceed what the wire will handle.

All circuits should be protecked, either fused or circuit breaker or combination of both. A master cutoff switch isn't a bad idea either. Fuse the high beam and low beam seperately. You'll need to know what the amp draw on each circuit will be to correctly fuse it and to get the minimum wire gauge for it.

Hi Dave... Thanks for the advice on fusing the Hi & Low beam separately, and yes definitely putting in a master cutoff sw. just not sure where I will install it as yet......

Thanks Al K. I will check out each cct with an ammeter for fuse size .... thanks Dale ..
