When was the Blue Oval filled in?

Ford has bought back the rights to the Blue Oval, "Mustang", "F150", some buildings, and a lot of pride.

When did Ford fill in the name with blue? I see T Models with the script only on the radiator, and my A has the Blue Oval on the radiator shell.

The model T only had ford stamped into the radiator shell. The model A started the separate emblem, with the blue enameling. The blue oval script ford was used for several years after the model A, then the ford script was replaced by a crest for a while, and much later the blue oval and script was used again, until now.

I'm confused, what do you mean bought back? Ford has always used the blue oval, no? Did they sell the rights to it at one point?

Re: When was the Blue Oval filled in?

From Wikipedia:

"In December 2006, Ford announced it would mortgage all assets, including factories and equipment, office property, intellectual property (patents and blue oval trademarks), and its stakes in subsidiaries, to raise $23.4 billion in cash. The secured credit line is expected to finance product development during the restructuring through 2009, as the company expects to burn through $17 billion in cash before turning a profit. The action was unprecedented in the company's 103 year history."

Improved sales and cost reductions have improved the company's credit rating and allowed Ford to repurchase the asset.
