old pictures I found some old pictures from the town I live in I thought others may enjoy. My house is a block away from this area on the same road.
1929 car show http://www.ebpm.com/washnj/bigpix/washnjssbusi013b.jpg http://www.ebpm.com/washnj/bigpix/washnjssbusi014b.jpg a 1930s picture looking in the direction of where we live. Kind of frustrated I've yet to find a picture with our house in it. It was built in 1901 so I know it was there just past those trees on the left. http://www.ebpm.com/washnj/bigpix/washnjssbusi035b.jpg Here is one a little older. I believe this is actually right near our house, but looking at the wrong side of the road. http://www.ebpm.com/washnj/bigpix/washnjssbusi039b.jpg Allwell, they are still adding pictures so maybe one will popup. |

Re: old pictures Thanks MrTube for sharing these photos.
I don't know what it is but at times I get a bit mesmerized by old black and white photos from the Model A era. |
Re: old pictures MrTube,
Great photos! How about some photos of now....with the same perspective? |
Re: old pictures Great Photo's and I like the monitor top in your avatar as well

Re: old pictures Wow, What a time to live in. Oh I know they had problems but maybe things didn't come at you so fast like they seem to now. I think you might have had to be tougher back then. I would probably die in a couple weeks if I went back in time to then. Thanks for the photos. That was my job a few years ago. Digital took over and put us out of business. I know we have to advance to keep up but technalogy sure takes more jobs than it adds. Thanks again

Re: old pictures And not a wide whitewall or a light colored wheel in sight.

Re: old pictures We has a fridge like that in my in laws old summer house. It sprung a leak and the garage it was in smelled like ammonia for weeks.
Oh like the pictures too, where were they taken? I'm sure our hysterical society here in Westfield has pictures like that too. My house was built in the early 20's and has a Model A garage with the Cadillac bump out, that is now my office. |

As far as I am aware no domestic refrigerator (other than absorption types) ever used ammonia as a refrigerant. The GE Monitor top most certainly never used ammonia. 1927-1932 used sulphur dioxide, 1933-34 used methyl formate and 1935-1937 used sulphur dioxide again. According to the service manuals some later units MAY have used R-12. |
