Keeping Small Brown Check Seat from Damage

When I restored my early 1930 coupe I opted to upholster it in the original fabrics. LeBaron Bonney did a great job on my front seat, so much so that now I'm trying to figure out how to keep it that way. The other day I almost jumped in the car with a screw driver in my back pocket . Then in a garage environment there are the ever present greasy fingers or clothes. I'm really trying to avoid a seat cover but I want to keep the seat as protected as I can when not showing the car. What have you done?

I have a plush towel about the same color as my seats, and use that unless I am in my best clothes, which is not often.

Annabell Pope of Charter Oaks Chapter of MAFCA in Visalia, Ca. makes up & sells an afgahn cover with all Model A styles on it. You can find them on their website. Bill W.

Can't sit in my driver's seat, that's BUTER T. BROWN'S, (my Rat Terrier) chosen spot! Life is good, Bill W.

I also sit on a towel. On my tudor the seat back wore out first from the back of my belt rubbing on it. Nothing lasts forever.

I keep a sheet on my original upholstery in my 31 slant window.

Regarding Bill Williamson's reply. Thanks for the adverstisement for the Model A Afghans that are sold by our Charter Oak Chapter in Visalia CA. The Afhgans were designed by several other members of the chapter (not Annabelle as you stated) and have been sold for over 12 years all over the US and even to members of chapters in other countries. A few years ago Annabelle accepted the sales responsibility for our Afghans from other members of the chapter and she has been doing a very good job in this position. They make a beautiful addition to any Model A and even come in three colors blue, green and maroon. I think the price is still $25 and they can be obtained by calling George or Annabelle Pope at 559-733-8949.

Hi Paul

We don't have a website, but I can send you a picture of one of the blue ones I have. I am in the middle of a project right now, but will do that this afternoon.
Thanks
Dave

I also shopped for a nice bath towel about the same color. It covers the back and the bottom of the seat. Ron
