Well, I have a chance to buy this.. I would like any input on the pics that are with it. The fenders are T???? The engine an A or B out of a Combine, it turns free?? I think the body is a 30 Coupe. You can't see it in the pics, but the wheels are solid steel not from an AA or TT. Let me know what you guys think if my offer was good... Thanks Chad M.

The cab is not a pickup cab,it has seams running down like the sedans.Looks like somebody shortened up a sedan body to put on it.There were hundreds of those done here during the war to get a better gas ration during the war.The rear window is framed like a Tudor sedan.I don't know if the fenders are T or not,I'm not that familiar with them,but they are not A fenders.It could even be a bunch of A parts stuck on another kind of chassis.You say it has disc wheels,but the pictures don't show if they are small ones,(like a Chevrolet)or bigger ones,like a 1-1/2 ton truck.As James Rogers pointed out,the oil filler is an interesting thing.It's on the wrong side.It has an A head,not B.It looks like a nice solid bunch of parts.The headlight bar looks different too.Need some more pictures.The rear of the cab,full height,not just top or bottom,sides of the engine,suspension,wheels,axles,etc.

The fenders and headlights/bar sure look like those on my 1928 Chevrolet fire truck. After 1928 Chevy big trucks had disc wheels as mentioned. Also 1928 was the last year for the Chevy four cylinder engine. Could it be a home made Ford body, hood, radiator on an old Chevy chassis?

Distributor looks "different" also. My God, what if someone put an A body on a diff chassis!!

The pipe is the air intake not oil filler. The combine ran the carb backwards.

Is it my imagination or did they chop the radiator and shell down like a hot rod?

Just because the engine turns over free, does not neccesarilly mean a good thing. I overhauled an engine this past year that turned over free. When we disassembled the engine for overhaul, the piston rings fell off the pistons. Everything else is just fun.

Those are "marker lights", very common back "in the day". Probably a Western Auto aftermarket strip of 3 amber beehive lights.

if the cowl band is good, head light buckets, radiator shell not to badly split , door's look good at the bottom, gas tank?? , i would say offer him $125.00 to $200.00..Scrap price is high right now..

Pete,I bet right now that truck would scrap for double or triple that right now.I just scaled a Ford Ranger,no engine or trans,I walked out with $248. Last summer I passed on a trailerload of A parts.All mechanical,no sheet metal,they had been stored under a barn by a hoarder.Engines,transmissions,rears,front axles,frames,etc.The scrapper knew how much he had on the minute he let out the clutch.He offered the stuff to me for $1500.per load,I turned it all down.It all brought quite a bit more over the scales.He hauled quite a few trailer loads out of that barn.I could just picture myself shelling out $8-$10,000 for a bunch of iron dumped in the yard.Heavy iron was bringing $380.per ton at the time,and it was a 2000 pound ton,not the metric,or gross ton at 2240.
