Tillotson carburetor

How much distance should the float in a tillotson carburetor have? My float keeps sticking when the pin drops too far and jams open. The instructions for a Zenith says 5/8", but I doubt if that is the same.

Turn the Tilly top upside down and measure 1 inch from the deck to the top of the float.

Duh....just did a google search and got led back to here. To answer my own question, it's 1". Sorry, I'm a new member and just learning how thorough this forum can be. Thanks to all the old posters!

mrtexas-
A very informative site. The pictures and directions are outst6anding. The float setting of 1-1/8 inch is what I too have found. There is a new Tilly manual now available. Snyder's, I think. Great companion.
