Model A Carburetor

Can anyone help me with a Tillotson carb. I fell like it needs to be rebuilt as it the float seems to not stop the gas from leaking out.

Click the "Search This Forum" tab and type in Tillotson. Review the past threads which address Tillotsons, Zeniths and Zeniths that look like tillies.

My Tillotson is doing the same thing and its been rebuilt. It has the rubber tip neddle that i thought would be better than the old style brass. I'm going to try the grose-jet valve.

I've be running Tillotsons for years on both of my Model A's.
Switch back to the brass float needle and coyne it when you install it.
Coyne means lightly taping the needle into the seat with a small hammer, just one or two taps are all that is needed.
Make sure the float height is set correctly!
Mr Teaxs, who posts on this site, has a great website on repairing Tillotsons.
Good luck

Do you shut off the fuel valve and run the gas out of the carburetor when you park it? That needs to be standard practice for Model As.
