Shock ID Help I have about 30 shocks from collecting over the years. Does anyone have a way to identify what the various years look like? Thank you Dave/Green Bay

Re: Shock ID Help Bill Wzorek has a handout that shows how to ID the different years. Maybe he will mail you a copy if you contact him. You might also try Apple Hydraulics website and see if they have pictures showing the different years.
PS....if you find you have some good extra '35 cores, I'm looking to buy a complete set that are in rebuildable condition. |

Re: Shock ID Help Dave, I don't usually find part numbers on the cores but the numbers on the arms may help ID them. Consider grouping those shocks into same or similar type parts and take some pictures to post here. We could probably ID most of them for you.

33-34 stuff . Notice the raised boss for the fill plug . Pretty sure other years don't have this . These are 33-all & 34 rear . The one with the arm is what I refer to as the common 34 front type . If you want to sell any rebuildable ones of the type in pic I would be interested .

Re: Shock ID Help The one with just the square shaft sticking out in pic one could be 33-34 if it has the raised boss for the fill plug like the ones in my pic . The 4 with arms on top of pic 2 are 34 fronts . Waddya wantz fer dem ?

Given the length of the shock's body and the lack of adjustment or oblong cap on the end of the shaft, I'd guess that one in the first photo is a '35-'36 rear shock. All of the shocks without arms in the center photo are for Model As. |
Re: Shock ID Help Shocks are a study in themselves & to clarify - the ones in my pic without arms are 33 & early 34 . The one with the arm is what I call " common " 34 front . These examples DO NOT represent all shocks used in 33-34 . They just happen to be the type I use . Look at pages 2-10 , 2-11 & 2-12 of the ev8c 33-34 book . PS thanks for the shocks - always looking for these types .
