What lubricant for window and latch parts?

I cleaned up the window regulator and door latch today. What lubricant should I use on the latch and the regulator? A spray silicone or a grease? None?

I plan on painting the parts as well. The regulator had paint on it before but the latch did not appear to have paint. I assume its ok to paint these parts?

Thanks!

I use regular wheel bearing grease. I figure if it can stand up to wheel bearings, things like door latches and mechanisms are a breeze.

I use spray white lithium --it is thinned, will penetrate, then the solvent evaporates leaving the grease ---that way it goes into the pivots and under the moving parts better

Just a suggestion on painting. Consider using self etching primer as final color (does not have to be topcoated ). It leaves a satin finish and if you want a glossy finish, coat with Rustoleum clear lacquer.

White Lubriplate was what was used in the 40s and 50s. G.M.
