button style rotor cap

Good morning I have a question about the button style rotor cap on my 55 ford 272 y block. it seems to have a lot of play on the shaft. The rotor is brand new and it comes from Mexico Is there a ford part no. someone can give me or can someone suggest where i can get a better fitting one?

FAA 12200 B is the Ford number.DR 1 is the Motorcraft number.Your local Ford dealer should be able to get it for you.If not call me I have them in stock.

Darrell is right, look inside the old rotor to see if the clip is stuck in it. Dont spend a lot of money on that distributor, the 57 and newer is much better. NAPA has them.

for everyday driving i never had a problem with the early dist,.if you have a 55 carb you cant hook your vacuum advance to it with a 57 dist,.
