HELP! New guy here. Needs help.
 

Hi everyone,
I'm new on here, and looking for a site or? that will show me step by step how to go about restoring the 1952 F1 I recently purchased. I'm thinking (hoping) that someone has kept a detailed journal online, or something.
It was all taken apart (12 years ago) by the previous owner.
This is something I've never done before, and I'm not sure of the order in which things should be done.

There are alot of guys on here that will be able to help you out. I got loads of info from these guys! Most of them have fully restored alot of old Fords. And, its also nice to see people from Minnesota on here.

In addition to all the good advice you will get here on Fordbarn, there is also a website dedicated to the early Ford F1's and the EFV8C/A website. All very good sources of information.

Welcome aboard ,have fun with your pickup.I'm having fun with mine .Seems like they never get done .Been working on mine for about 9 years ,off and on and when I got a few bucks to spare .

Frame off restorations usually start with complete disassembly but the only problem with that is that a person may not have the time and dedication to be able to get the machine back up in a decent time frame. They then lose interest and end up selling them in pieces (like your is) and parts get lost in the act of moving them around. You will need a Chassis Parts Catalog for the 48 thru 52 at least in order to find the part numbers of parts that might be missing. If you have plenty of time to dedicate to the project you are a leg up already. There are a fair amount of folks who are knowledgeable about the old F1 types on this board since they are popular vehicles and they would be glad to answer questions you might have about them.

There will be a lot of cleaning and painting of old frame and drive train parts in your future. Lots of stuff is reproduced for the F1 pickups. All the more common brake and drive system parts are still available from NAPA or Rock Autoparts.

I did a frame off restoration of a 52 about 15 years ago, before cameras were invented. So no pics.
