Odd Murray Body Co. logo found

For years now, I have either missed any reference to, or it was never posted anywhere I've seen, this "logo" that I found in my '31 160-B Town sedan.(March built). When I stripped out the old upholstery, up in the back of the body, next to the rear window opening, is one of the two little steel brackets, with only the one stamped with this logo I describe; A stamped-in-steel letter "B", having a small "M" in the top of the "B" and the letter "C" in the bottom of the "B" with even a smaller letter "O" in the center of the "C". You don't have to be " Lt.Columbo" to figure it stands for the "Murray Body Co.". Has ANYONE seen this before?? 15 years ago I wrote to Roger Kauffman about this, hoping it would make it into his "Tech. Questions" in MARC, but never did. I'm posting a photo of the location of bracket also.

Thanks for setting me straight on this logo I.D. Of course the "large B" would be for the maker's name--Briggs. Duh! So this means also my 160-B windows are "arched" at the tops, which I thought was the only way to tell the difference between the two. This this goes to prove again, you guys here on Fordbarn are "TOP SHELF!" I don't know how I ever missed the link to Vince's great information. Thanks again.---Pete.

bruce davis did a great article in the Restorer a few years back showing all the brackets that were marked on the Briggs slant window sedans
they are all over the Briggs made slant window cabriolets also

Sonny, Today, I don't even rate being his "dog". On the subject of bodies, Do all slant Town sedans have "arched" doors at the top? This is what always led me to believe this is a Murray body, whereas people have told me the Briggs bodies have straight, or flat top door window frames.

Difference in window top arches is in the straight windshield '29, '30 & early '31 Fordors only.
The '31 slant Fordors were designed to have the same appearance [ & not much wood] & be able to be assembled at the Ford factories, not only at Briggs or Murray as previously.

Thanks for clearing that up for me Tudortomnz. I couldn't seem to find this info in the judging standards book, nor any book I own.
