Vintage Door Handles

Were any of the original outside door handles made of solid stock ? The right side "locking" on my 30 coupe is solid...the left is solid with a thin overlay like some of the bumper clamps. Just bought right and left handles that were sold as originals and both of those have the thin overlay. The solid handle is marked.."F-2" and the other is unmarked. Did Ford make both kinds ?

I've seen repro handles that were solid.

Modern era repro handles [Tudor & Coupe at least] are 'solid'. The originals were a composite construction, nice detail & form ; difference is obvious to the eye. Unfortunately, original pot metal locking cylinders expanded with age & jammed.
