front end

Good morning,
I am working on a early 1928 Model "A" I noticed the pitman arm ball is bolted onto the pitman arm? Also the right steering arm ball is bolted on, I never have seen this before is it a early 28 part or repro??

thank you,
mike

Sounds like a back woods repair job. I beleve all were origonaly forged solid.

In later Fords, don't know what years, these items had replaceable balls on a tapered shaft with a nut and cotter pin such as you describe. You can buy these ball/studs at vendors that sell early V8 parts. Probably a prior owner replaced them with these more "modern" parts when the balls wore flat.

I agree with the posts above. All the steering arms and pitman arms that I have ever seen were forged as one unit.

I would call A and L and buy you all three for your vehicle. Check the RG's out for correct ones.

A and L is listed in the STICKY above.
