8BA intake manifold Gasket

Any tips on installing new intake gasket on a 8BA? What sealant would you use? Bolt tighten sequence? Thanks

i never use anything, just clean the surface real good and i don't recall the torque and sequence, i just tighten down around the intake tightening as i go. don't know if this is proper but its always worked well for me.

put a lite coat of grease on both sides of the gasket, that way it wont stick in case you have to pull the gasket again, you can reuse it, i start in the middle of the manifold and tighten towards both ends, just like torqueing a head

I go with the grease.

I cut mine out of vegetable composite gasket material to match the intake ports and install them dry. Oil from the valve chest will seep into the gasket a bit which makes it easy to remove but doesn't leak.

I found a guy who had a original gray asbestos looking one, it was stamped fomoco script. It is a thick gasket, has been hanging on a wall for 30 years he said. I bet with a little grease it would seal. I will probably go to Napa and get a new one, anyone have the Napa part number? Thanks
