37 Flathead oil leaks Excessive oil leaks that appear to be front of engine ( not from cotter key hole) any easy fix, I plan to increase viscosity ( 20/50) and I put on a new breather, should I put on a PCV ?open to suggestions,37 cabriolet is 98 % original open to suggestions

Re: 37 Flathead oil leaks Cover your distributor with saran wrap and give your engine a bath, then get back to us with exact location and amount of leakage. 20/50 sounds good in any case.

Re: 37 Flathead oil leaks I would not recommend pcv . The 37 uses no rear seal so youd be sucking dust from the clutch area using a pvc

Re: 37 Flathead oil leaks You need to do as suggested. Clean the motor and be more specific, picture will help

Re: 37 Flathead oil leaks Maybe start by tightening the bolts on the oil pan, timing gear cover, distributor, etc. and see if that makes any difference.

Re: 37 Flathead oil leaks What mcgarrett said x 2, but do not over tighten the pan bolts.

Re: 37 Flathead oil leaks A 20/50 is no more then a 20 thought all operating temp go to a 30
