35 muffler. options

I had a backfire that popped by muffler.. now looking for a replacement..

seems I have a few options: I can get one from Classic Exhaust for $225... or if anyone has one to sell, or any suggestion for a "modern" muffler that will work?

There are those who, in order to (positively) determine if the engine is running, must touch the fan blade.

I would also suggest Waldron’s Exhaust in Michigan. They likely have one in stock.

A good glasspack muffler will give it the right sound.

According to some, a piece of plain exhaust pipe will be even better.:D

I never saw it done, but have heard of using a torque tube for a deep rumble!

I have a set of lake style headers I made from '36 torque tube. Good sound.

Half of a '35-'36 tubular driveshaft would be a big weight saving over an actual torque tube.

When a failed condenser led to the demise of grandpa's muffler; a trip to a local muffler shop provided a suitable replacement.

Re: 35 muffler. options

a Ford 600 or 800 muffler works just fine. Weld on inlet and outlets to match old muffler. Price is reasonable, less that fifty dollars and a good stout muffler.
