1935 air filter screen installation.. What a pain! The 1935 Air filter is a PITA to replace the screen... I have read some past posts here suggesting a few things: take you time and expect blood, or cut the posts and reweld... Due to those options I have chosen to use a 37 with a simple replacement --- a Dennis Carpenter circular ring.
All that said, is there any reseller of a screen that makes is easy to install the 35 air filter screen and maintain originality? I search Ray Nas but that goes nowhere.. How the heck did the mechanics do this in say 1940 when the screen was all clogged? |

They soaked it in gasoline as advised in the various manuals of that era. Seriously. By the way, Roy Nacewicz passed away a number of years ago. |
