1935 air filter screen installation.. What a pain!

The 1935 Air filter is a PITA to replace the screen... I have read some past posts here suggesting a few things: take you time and expect blood, or cut the posts and reweld... Due to those options I have chosen to use a 37 with a simple replacement --- a Dennis Carpenter circular ring.

All that said, is there any reseller of a screen that makes is easy to install the 35 air filter screen and maintain originality? I search Ray Nas but that goes nowhere.. How the heck did the mechanics do this in say 1940 when the screen was all clogged?

They soaked it in gasoline as advised in the various manuals of that era. Seriously.

By the way, Roy Nacewicz passed away a number of years ago.
