I took my Model A to the local car show last night ,a big turnout of all sorts of cars, My A was the oldest, but there was a really nice Mercury ,I spoke to the owner, they had worked in the USA for a few years and bought it back with them.it sure looked very stylish.

Thats just like the one my brother and I parted out 40 years ago . The engine is in my 41 pu. Most of the car was so rotten see through it. We keept all the running gear and put most of it in his 53 ford.

Ford 302, I told him I would have the right engine for it under my bench.

The small block Fords are very good engines but nothing sounds like an old 312 Y-block. You have to hear one with Smithy's mufflers on it to know what I mean. With that and an R11 overdrive, they are the defininition of cool. I've seen few 53s that were converted. The old 255 flathead isn't bad either but the 312 gave them more juice for a little more work.
