Late 31 pickup seats Looking for ideas for late 31 pickup seats hoping to find a reasonable solution
( not a correct restoration). Plywood / foam ? |
Re: Late 31 pickup seats Search YouTube for seat building. You are on the right track

Re: Late 31 pickup seats I have reproduction CJ-5 seats in my late '31 pickup. They work great and look like they belong.

Re: Late 31 pickup seats Plywood base and foam from a golf car seat. Covered with a plastic seat cover for a 50's bench seat, fold the cover to fit and staple in place then trim excess. I harvested some foam when I worked at an E-Z Go dealer, it is designed for this type of seat.

Re: Late 31 pickup seats thanks for the ideas any pics or dimensions ?

Re: Late 31 pickup seats Third seat (removable) from a mid 80s-90s Dodge/Plymouth minivan. Works great with a metal frame under it.

Re: Late 31 pickup seats Perhaps by the time and effort spent to find options, one can purchase the correct springs and wood frames from the vendors.

Re: Late 31 pickup seats Snyders sells the springs, and we make the seat covers out of the correct materials at Classtique Upholstery. Www.classtiqueupholstery.com

I used a middle row seat from a Caravan in my Coupe - only cost $100 - was intended as temporary. Not quite as comfortable as a true Model A seat but it works so well I have kept it. Someday I will recover it with more authentic material. It has a plywood base attached to the original runners and the seat is attached to the base with door hinges so it can tilt up and be easily removed by pulling the hinge pins, also reclines. I had to bend the tilting mechanism arm but other than that it fits perfectly and matches the Classtique interior quite well. |
Re: Late 31 pickup seats Found seats. Thanks. FordBarn !
