Torque Plate

I sold some car parts recently that I was not using and thought I might purchase something car related that I might use at least once in awhile,..and a torque plate came to mind. The one company I have looked at so far wants to know what size the bore hole should be. Now I know any flathead I might still build would not be bored more than .125, would not this plate still be useful for smaller overbores?

OUCH, I just got a response back from the one company I contacted, BHJ and their price is $737.00. Might as well ask if anyone knows of other companies who offer such a piece?

I know others have made their own or cut up a head(s) but that doesn't work for me. Comments most welcome. Thanks.

UPDATE: I found CCA Racing who offers a flathead torque plate for $429 which would be doable, and their even in my state!

That’s what I use. I had him cut out around valves so I can use to pressure test also. A great guy to deal with as far as I’m concerned.

Coming from you Tony, that's a pretty glowing endorsement. I have a pressure test kit but the plate isn't 2 inches thick and I imagine it wouldn't be robust enough as a torque plate. I'll be calling CCA Racing next week.
