Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer This post is a poll to determine your preferences for the type of accessory gauges you have or would install in/on your Model "A". Choose from the choices listed:
Clock Coolant Temperature Gauge Electronic Tachometer Manifold Vacuum Gauge Motometer Oil Pressure Gauge Motometer Thermoquail Voltmeter Gauge |
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer Coolant temp gauge for sure. Now that I have one I would not go back to having an A without one
|
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer Engine temp amd oil pressure.
|
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer Temp and oil pressure. I also have a voltmeter that was helpful in a diagnosis.
I have a Burtz, on a stock Model A, oil pressure I'm not sure I would need, but temperature is a must. |
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer Just a clock...and an outside temp gauge. Not on your list, but would be nice to have.
|
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer I have none and will keep it that way.
|
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer 2 Attachment(s)
Just one - water temp. Our Coupe came with a Brassworks pressure radiator a thermostat housing and old style Stewart Warner wing gauge.
Our Tudor has no gauges but as long as the muddy looking water isn't puking out of the radiator I figure it's OK. |
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer In order of checking frequency:

Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer I have oil pressure and temp gauge in my A's. I figure that's all I need to keep an eye on things.

Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer I have temp gauge in both my A's and a recently added Tach in my touring car.
|
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer Clock? No. I wear a watch.
Coolant Temperature Gauge? YES! Electronic Tachometer No. My hearing is still good. Manifold Vacuum Gauge. About as necessary as an altimeter Motometer No Oil Pressure Gauge No Motometer Thermoquail a nice decoration but not a gauge Voltmeter Gauge I do not need to know while driving |
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer coolant temperature gauge when I was driving long tours in the summer.
none needed for my beater truck just driving locally...... |
Re: Poll Regarding Accessory Gauges You Prefer Side note : modern cars are getting away from touch screens and going back to knobs and buttons ! About time IMO
In my carry tool box I have IR temperature gun, VOM, a test light, a screw driver for removing the oil plug on the side of the engine to check for oil flow, a calibrated wooden stick for double checking the gas level. |
