Counterfeit 1907 Thomas Flyer 1 Attachment(s)
This is a counterfeit early brass car
assembled in Grand Junction, Colorado many years ago before the Interweb was really up and running. It was represented as a 1907 Thomas Flyer, at first glance it appeared it just might be, but closer inspection revealed otherwise. Sold on the Interweb in 2017, safely transported by me from Denver to Washington state. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1757874953 Jim |
Counterfeit 1907 Thomas Flyer 3 Attachment(s)
For those who follow my travels
on Facebook and YouTube, I am always trying to learn and share what I discover. My curiosity led me to Stu Laidlaw who was familiar with this vehicle and the history of its creation. Further research led me to conclude the engine was of a later manufacture and from LaFrance, it had been altered to resemble a 1907 Thomas Flyer as was the rest of the vehicle. Forged manufacturer plates had been attached to the frame and body and rear differential. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1757885615 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1757885617 https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/attac...1&d=1757885617 Jim |
Re: Counterfeit 1907 Thomas Flyer Was it represented as a real one when you transported it? I know of a Mercedes Blitzen Benz that was recreated. A friend was involved in building it. It has since been accepted as real.

Re: Counterfeit 1907 Thomas Flyer Harold Coker used to have the mkt cornered on those. He owned several when he was alive. The family did sell off a few when he passed.......
