Can someone explain why this 1934 Sedan fender has oval slots rather than round holes for the mounting bolts? Only one I have ever seen this way. Thanks.

That hole looks homemade to me. What's the chances that fender has been on and off one or more vehicles in the last 91 (or perhaps 88) years.

All parts in the last picture are 34 parts so you can assume the fender is as well. There were 3 manufactures of the34 fender back in the day.

It is 100% a 34 Ford rear Fender. I've never seen one with oval holes before. Thanks for responding.
