Ford Produced and stamped “Ford” Springs? 1 Attachment(s)
I took my rear spring off and cleaned, ground smooth, re-arched and graphite painted and found one leaf was stamped three times “Ford”. Of course I’ve only done this twice so I’ve not looked at many individual leaves before. Is this fairly common and I’ll assume ford made their own springs as well? The letters are raised instead of indented.

Re: Ford Produced and stamped “Ford” Springs? The raised letter would have to have come from tooling that forged the springs. Is this how the springs were made?

Re: Ford Produced and stamped “Ford” Springs? The Ford script on the leaf springs is referenced in the early 28 section of the Judging Standards.

Re: Ford Produced and stamped “Ford” Springs? Just a side note... the letters would have had to be raised to avoid creating stress risers. stamped in letters create stress risers. Tooling was likely in the rolls that were used to form the springs.
