35 Fuel Gauge Info

I need some advice as to the best way to attach the little fitting that goes on
the end of the gauge air line. I own an acetylene torch which I feel would be
too much flame even with my smallest tip. I also own an electric soldering gun.
What type of solder should I use?

rosin core solder.I have done a bunch. Chase the threads on the hex with a thread chaser also so nut goes on without resistance..Die won't clear the space between hex and gauge case.

Propane torch or wife's kitchen torch. Acid core solder is also good or low temp silver solder from the hardware store. Clean any flux deposits after soldering.
