Re: 1956 lincoln premiere rear shocks For these cars if you are at all concerned with smooth ride, oil filled shocks are the only way to go. Gas filled give a stiff ride. Just one guy's opinion and experience.

Re: 1956 lincoln premiere rear shocks No argument with the above. But on today’s roads and higher speeds, I find the gas shocks to be better. Mom always had a Lincoln, and some were pretty soft boats. But at freeway speeds I just didn’t like it much. So think about your roads and driving conditions before you reach for your wallet.
