Inexpensive Coupe on BaT This coupe will not command very much money. The engine won't start, there is some damage to the upholstery, and it is green. Getting the engine running will not take more than a few hours, assuming there is compression. Someone who is handy with sewing and upholstery die can fix that aspect.
This would be a good starter car for someone who wants a driver. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/19...d-model-a-226/ |
Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT Nothing sells for cheap on BAT. You'll be surprised what it goes for when the bidding closes. That last minute bidding fever sets in every time.

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT I tend to agree with A29, but some prices have def been dropping. A driver 230sl yesterday went in the high 30s. that didnt happen 6 months ago.
Houses are high stocks are high metals are going high cars overall are pretty reasonable. many are aging out or the youngins dont know how to work on anything. |
Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT The project cars on BaT tend to go for a lot lower price. I predict $4,000.

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT Seeing the Ignition cable, looks like a Pop-Out or a Repro. I would suspect that as well.

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT I bet the interior smells sweet with all the mouse pee around the interior light and the obvious nest in the headliner.

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT It's clean and shiny the thing a lot of BAT buyers look at.
It sold for 12 grand last time. https://bringatrailer.com/listing/1931-ford-model-a-92/ |
Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT It is a shame that the present owner has let it go to crap. Doesn't run, moth eaten, and mouse nests. If you paid someone to get the engine running and put new upholstery in that would come to maybe $6,000. So subtract that from the value in pristine condition.

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT I like the trunk on it and no rumble seat. The trunk would be a large selling point for me.:p

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT the upholstery can be fixed up or at least used for a template for whoever you can commission to make you a new one.
i dont have a ounce of uphosltry, except for my mouse ridden seats, and let me tell you it's hard to find for resale and incredibly expensive new. |

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT I'd dearly love a coupe like that but they don't exists over here. The only thing I can see wrong with it is that it looks too nice. I'd go through the mechanicals, convert to RHD and drive the wheels off it.

Interior damage won’t make the car stop any slower, or run any worse. But it gets someone a car that can be driven with minimal cost and effort. They can address the interior or other complaints as the buyers time and budget allows! We should encourage the hobby, not criticize our cars. |

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT My hunch tells me the backstory goes like this: car belonged to the original seller's father in law who passed away. The car sat around and started getting eaten in a barn in WV. The seller put it on BAT and it looks like one of the people on there got it to run...kind of.
So the guy in California throws a bid on the car, not really knowing what he's getting into (this bid was his only activity on BAT). He has it shipped from WV to CA (good golly!) and then stores it away for another day. Finally gets around to working on it after a couple of years and is like "well...it won't start..." He does the usual "troubleshooting via parts replacement" process and it still won't start. So...back on BAT it goes. I'm betting the car just needs to have some maintenance done and it will run. Looks like a nice project for someone. |

Same here... I like Coupes with trunks more and more.... It looks like a decent car, clean it up start driving it that is all it needs... |
Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT One day left. Bidding stands at $2,031

Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT Maybe everyone is waiting for the last minute feeding frenzy.
I wouldn't mind having it but I am extremely limited to space. Even kind of matches my Town Sedan in color. |
Re: Inexpensive Coupe on BaT $6,000 with less than 24 hours to go.
Too cheap hope the guy put a reserve on the car. I wouldn't let it go for anything like that money. They were honest in presenting the car I'll give them that:o |
