When attending car show, have you ever noticed mismatching headlight glasses on 1936 Fords.
Have a look at this pair, and you can see there is a difference in the gap where the smiley face is.
On one glass, it is very close to the horizontal line above it while on the other, there is a larger gap.
I have seen numerous 1936 Fords with mismatching headlight glasses.
Have any other V8ers noticed this slight difference?

Good eye! If you have the EFV8 book, "1936 - '35 Fords", there is a section dealing with the two different headlight lenses that Ford used

Never noticed that possible difference.There are also non Ford Script replacement lenses made by Lenex sold by Western Auto,JC Whitney etc.They appear on Ebay often.

I wonder if there were Federal Gov. photometric requirements back then like there is today. Might explain some differences.

If I remember correctly there are identifying codes on the lens that you want to match up for a proper pair. Don Rogers , Can you please chime in on this?
