1950 automobile tire period correct whitewall width?

I am planning on purchasing Auburn Deluxe whitewall tires for my 1950 Ch*** car. The available whitewall widths are 2.5, 2.75, and 3.0. Any ideas on which one would be more period correct? The car is black as far as appearance significance.

The whitewall width on 1950 Fords was 3 1/2". I cannot speak for other brands, but assume they would have been similar.

Thanks for the response. Coker tire says they were 3" and greater up to the mid fifties so this answers my question.
