1939-1942 brake parts question 1 Attachment(s)
I have a model A project i just bought.
It has 39-42 brakes on it. I am trying to adjust the brakes but noticed the eccentric bolts wont turn. I took both sides apart and found that behind the nut that holds the eccentric to the backing plate (driveshaft side, not the tire side) there are three different washers between the nut and the backing plate. One had a star washer, one had a lock washer, one had a washer and one had nothing. What should be behind the nut? I have searched and have not seen exactly the info i need to do this right. thanks |

Re: 1939-1942 brake parts question One lock washer behind the nut..
So says the Green Book. |
Re: 1939-1942 brake parts question Some one has been hammering on those. There was originally a dot on one side of the end to indicate the point where its backed off all the way. The two dots faced each other at that point.
