2025 4th of July Island Style

My 2 daughters were in the foyota with kids and friends, I drove the woodie with assorted grandkids. A grand old time was had by all. My oldest daughter who drove had gotten her driver license in the foyota 25 years ago when it was just an aging 4 door landcruiser and our family car. For the first time there was a car show in town after the parade. It was definately a hit. Have some other pics the family sent but this collage is only one I could download. Counting on one of my buddies here to enlarge it. Thanks, Gary

How fun! Did you own ALL the parade vehicles or just the coolest ones?

Looks like "The Jail Bar Ranch" is the best place to celebrate the 4th. Thanks Gary !!!!

Great Job, Gary! Everything is working and looking good. Guess the 9" rear turned out to be a "posi", huh. Did the additive make the limited slip work better?

Thanks Pete and all the rest of you! Really fun for me that the kids and grandkids enjoy it so much. Also I have made an effort to keep the woodie as a 'driver' with semi-gloss varnish brushed on and old seats out of other vehicles so they can feel relaxed crawling around with collected beach rocks in one hand, and an ice cream cone in the other. The woodie becomes a true daily driver in the summer. Being able to drive a manual transmission is almost a lost art in this day and age, but I heard Molly telling someone it was like riding a bike, how it comes right back.

Yes it is indeed a ford trac-lock rear. I used regular dino style GL5 and when I realized what was going on I added the friction modifier. This made it smooth with no chatter. It still chirps the inside tire pulling out of an intersection if I get on it too hard. The fresh 276 with the 4.11 gears makes the old gal feel like a hot rod.

I noticed it took Pete Hoovie all of 8 minutes to enlarge Gary's collage. What's taking him so long?

Proof you don't have to "live large" to live right.
