Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates They go by the windshield inside of the A pillar. You will see screw holes that line up with the holes in the pieces.

Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates Thanks Mike, That’s exactly what I thought when he showed them to me. He is 2 weeks behind me in returning home from the roadster show so I’m trying to get hopefully a couple pictures to take with me when I go look at the car.

Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates They might be partially covered when the garnish molding is installed. I will look at my coupe.

Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates Those pieces are covered with headliner cloth. The garnish molding around the windshield will cover the screws.

Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates 9 Attachment(s)
uncle buck; I was told in my Lebaron-Bonney instructions in 1982 below that those are called windshield "Reveal Panels" that fit on the interior of the right and left interior A-pillars. THEY ARE VERY RARE AND HARD TO FIND so keep them safe. When I installed mine, I had to gently bend them just a little bit to make them fit perfect. The last photo of LB Instructions mentions these panels that they label as number 3.
I saved the LB instructions for installing 1940 Ford coupe interior and can email them to you, if desired. $550 for the entire kit. As a side note, the OEM interior garnish molding screws are slotted cadmium plated screws, not Phillips. |
Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates In addition those plates also retain the wind lace on the A pillar

Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates I have an extra set of those if someone is missing theirs.

Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates You guy’s are awesome! Thank you so much for the help. Those pictures and directions are perfect.

Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates They are not very rare and hard to find. Every passenger car had them. I’ve got a couple extras sets sitting in my swap meet box.

Re: 1940 Deluxe Coupe trim plates Gosh, that's great news. I had trouble finding them in 1978.
