How much would the factory save if they didn't use the fiber washer in the millions of cars they made?

Re: Condenser?

My repro cable went bad, I want the skinny screw in ignition cable and it's out of stock, so I just took a piece of wire and put a terminal end on it and screwed it to the condensor. I lost the screw and washer in the process, and now I have an allen screw holding it on with no washer. The allen SHCS makes it super easy to install and I've had no problems. You can get away without it.

It's to prevent flash over of high tension voltage. Now days folks use DC4 silicon grease or equivalent to coat stuff for spark flash over prevention.

I have never used the fiber washer being discussed, and I never had an issue because of not using it. Moreover, I do not see it listed in the July1, 1931 Parts Price List.
