I believe the correct carburetor for your '35 is the Stromberg 48...

Re: 1935 ford coupe

well maybe i will have to find one of those???
Dad had this car my whole life i'm 55 now and he gifted it to me. was restored in early 80's. but he never drove it much. after draining bad fuel it started right up but dies when under load. looking forward to getting it on the road again.

You can also go with the Stromberg 97...

What petehoovie said... the Stromberg 97 is a sweet carb you won't go wrong...

If you need help rebuilding it Charlie Schwindler is your man he is the best...

Re: 1935 ford coupe

Don't throw the old carburetor away. The 21-29 carburetor is for a 1942 Ford and Mercury. I know it took a long time to find one for my 1942 Ford.

Re: 1935 ford coupe

Why not just get Charlie to rebuild what you've got; buy another carbie, $$$, chances are it needs a rebuild, more $$$. Your existing carb, whilst not original to a 35, will still be a good carb, after rebuilding it it should return better fuel consumption than a Stromberg 48 too!

Re: 1935 ford coupe

Any carburetor originally installed on a 34 through 48 Ford will bolt on and work, with some bending of the fuel line in the case of the Strombergs. The later 49-53 carburetors can also work if the vacuum advance port for the distributor is plugged. If originality is not the first concern I personally prefer the later Ford / Holley design carburetors. The Stromberg units seem a bit more tolerant of neglect than the Ford / Holley units.
Are you sure the carburetor is the problem?
Have you considered buying a carburetor kit and going through it yourself?

Re: 1935 ford coupe

Check with Daytonaparts.com for a carb kit, I hear they have a correctly machined power valve. The kit should cover a wide range of models of the 94 carbs.

Re: 1935 ford coupe

Rebuild the 94 or if that is not in your wheelhouse, send it to Charlie.
