Removing trans in a 1934 Ford pickup 1 Attachment(s)
I am attempting to replace the original 1934 trans in my 1934 truck with a 1934 trans. So, far, I have dropped the axel & torque tube and removed all transmission bolts, removed clutch arm & parking brake. Tried to jack up the engine, but the whole truck moves. There seems to be 2 rods about 1/2 half inch wide, holding the engine in place. Any suggestion as to how to get the trans out? Stuck in placed! Photo attached-if I can. Bill

Re: Removing trans in a 1934 Ford pickup You either have to remove the rear axle, (Move back out of the way) or remove the engine. Which method are you trying to do?

Re: Removing trans in a 1934 Ford pickup And you will probably have to remove the chatter rods, for either method.

Re: Removing trans in a 1934 Ford pickup you will have to raise the engine rear high enough to slide the trans back, of course after the rods are removed at the frame. You will also have to take the exhaust pipes loose from the headers to let the engine move.

Re: Removing trans in a 1934 Ford pickup Drain trans and remove shift tower also
