windshield frame

Did the AR Model A Ford have a hand wiper? I have a windshield frame that looks like the 1931 windshield frame but is not as wide and has a tube that looks like a hand wiper might be used. The mounts on the sides for the opening brackets are straight and not offset as on the 1931 frame. Maybe someone can answer these questions for me. Much appreciated

An article about windshield wipers was in one of the recent MAFCA or MARC magazines.

Maybe from an 82-A truck cab.

These slides depict the various windshield hold-open brackets.

Re: windshield frame

My 82A (Avatar March 1929) windshield frame has the offset brackets and the "tube" as described above.

Confirmed/duplicated in another '28 truck cowl (one can't have too many cowls) bought for the NEXT truck cab.

Another loose frame from a pre-1930 car does not have the tube - probably from a coupe or tudor. I expect this may be caused from the header above the windshield being the spot for a vacuum or electric wiper.

Bob Bidonde, Do you have a diagram of a 28/29 CCPU windshield slide arm setup? It is slightly different for its spacers. Not the wiper tube on the windshield itself.
Thanks

Seems like my 28Tudor has holes for both. I will have to look

Took some pictures today. First picture is of the tube at the top of the frame. Second picture is the drivers side of the frame where the slide bracket goes!

The hole for the wiper seems similar to the 82A truck, but the frame bracket is NOT the 82A - which has more "offset" to the leg with the hole in it. (as per the pix above.)

In fact yours seems to have two legs with two intersecting holes.

Is it possible this is post-Model A production? Like Model B? Or even later?
